Our Harvest

Tradition, effort, love. Each of these words could be included in the definition of vintage, at least in the definition it has for us in the winery.

It is a unique moment, full of excitement, in which we place all our hopes that this fruit, the grape, to which we dedicate so much time and attention, will give us the opportunity to produce wines as special as those we have at Bodegas Emilio Moro.

The grape harvest begins

Nerves are high, the team is ready for the grape harvest and unique sensations arise among them. The vineyard is waiting for us, the grapes are ready and one of the most important moments in the winery has arrived: the grape harvest.

Find out all about the grape harvest in the next chapters.

Constant pampering right from the start

The dance has begun!

The grapes are starting to arrive at our hopper, although the process began months ago when the plant bore its first fruit. Discover the development of the plant and how our technical department selects the ideal moment for harvesting.

Grapes, the main protagonist

The grapes, ‘the master key to making our wines’, have already arrived at the winery and it is now time to make sure that everything is working to start the processes in our facilities. The grapes travel a long way from the hopper to the destemmer, the crusher and the tanks. Don’t miss how fermentation takes place and how it goes from fruit to must in the words of our team.

The end of the vintage?

When the last harvested grapes enter the winery, the harvest may be considered finished, but is it really the end? Discover with us what this ‘end’ means.

A very special harvest

In a unique place, our vineyard; with incomparable company, children from Down Valladolid accompanied by their families and friends; we have enjoyed a magical day together with the winery’s collaborators in which the attendees have learned the process of the grape harvest through educational workshops in the form of games.

The work of Down Valladolid in the inclusion and recognition of the autonomy of people with Down’s Syndrome and intellectual disabilities is commendable and from Bodegas Emilio Moro we have joined in by organising this event in which children and adults have learned to harvest grapes and have enjoyed an extraordinary day.
