2021 vintage
The winter of 2021 was characterised by mild temperatures and moderate precipitation. Budding took place between the last week of March and the first week of April. The return of the cold weather in spring slowed down the plant growth. The months of May and June were warm and dry, allowing the plants to make up for lost time at the beginning. Ripening took place normally and the grapes were harvested in the second week of September.
Production – Rosso di Montalcino – Casanova di Neri
Manual selection of the bunches before destemming and selection of the grapes with an optical sorter. This is followed by spontaneous fermentation without added yeast and maceration with frequent punching down. All this is carried out in temperature-controlled steel vats for 18 days.
Tasting notes – Rosso di Montalcino
Rosso di Montalcino 2021 has an intense and lively red colour. The aroma presents a high concentration of young red fruit, followed by spices and cherry. The taste is round, enveloping and full-bodied. The finish is sweet and fruity, offset by a present acidity that heralds a bright future.
