Within the framework of Women’s Month, Patricia Sánchez Moro, general manager of Bodegas Emilio Moro, stands out as a brave and dedicated leader who, with an innovative vision of the business, has managed to lead the winery towards modernisation, implementing, in addition to a new corporate philosophy, a more sustainable strategy, and all of this, without renouncing the traditional essence that characterises them so much. A woman predestined to lead the family project, a woman with clear ideas and one who knows that ‘even if you do things very well, there is always room for improvement’. And she is working on it.
Her childhood memories always have a common denominator, namely life among vineyards and barrels. Patricia Sánchez Moro, the only oenologist of the four generations that make up the Moro family, has turned what was once just a game into passion, what was once just curiosity into commitment and what was once just an apprenticeship into leadership.
As a woman in the wine industry, Sánchez Moro has broken new ground in the traditional world surrounding Bodegas Emilio Moro. She grew up watching her grandfather, Emilio Moro, work the land and make wine. With an extensive professional career behind her, she has worked in important European wineries, gaining a broader vision of winemaking, which led her to continue with the family legacy, being the head of winemaking as production manager. A journey in which learning has been a constant, which has also allowed her to maintain a totally passionate concept of the world of wine, an emotion that she loves being able to convey to her team and her customers. Today, with a panoramic view of the business, but always with the aim of maintaining the family legacy, Patricia has managed to improve every day thanks to the implementation of a new corporate philosophy, which promotes a culture based on companionship, empathy and commitment, and to the modernisation of the brand, with projects such as updating the image of the winery’s wines, the adoption of sustainable strategies and the formation of a cohesive and committed team.
One of the things that Patricia is very clear about is that the legacy she has received is very good, but ‘our challenge is to improve every day in each of our processes as a winery’. As her grandfather did in his time, Patricia has shown her desire to innovate, to evolve, and for this reason, she has led forward-looking projects such as the inauguration of the new winery in El Bierzo; the expansion and extension of its borders with the French Maison Joseph Perrier and the prestigious Italian wineries Casanova Di Neri and Borgogno, of which they have become official distributors in Spain; and the significant growth in the international market and an improvement as a company.
Bodegas Emilio Moro, representatives of tradition in the world of wine for four generations, under the visionary leadership of Patricia, has established itself as a benchmark for fundamental values such as tradition, family, love for the land and good work. During this Women’s Month, we celebrate and highlight the figure of Patricia Sánchez Moro at Bodegas Emilio Moro and in the world of wine.
