Bodegas Emilio Moro, a national and international wine leader in Ribera del Duero, in its commitment to social responsibility, has once again participated in a new edition of Chefs For Children, a solidarity initiative that aims to promote healthy eating.

This is the fifth edition of this event in which gastronomy and children are the main attractions. After several editions held in Marbella, this year it took place at the Hotel Anantara Villa Padierna, in Benahavís, and representatives of Bodegas Emilio Moro travelled there to present their wines.

The event, in which solidarity and gastronomy come together, began with a welcoming ceremony in which the president of the winery, Javier Moro, said, ‘for the entire Bodegas Emilio Moro family it is a real pleasure to be able to participate once again this year by contributing our small part in such a beautiful solidarity initiative as helping children and their families to make their dreams come true through the Fundación Pequeño Deseo’.

Under the slogan ‘Eating healthy is fun’, 40 Michelin Star chefs took part in this special event, giving cooking workshops to 150 children from the Fundación Deseo and local schools to cook simple and healthy recipes.

The icing on the cake took place in the evening with a charity gala in aid of the Fundación Pequeño Deseo, whose aim is to improve the daily lives of children with serious illnesses who spend a lot of time in hospital. The gala was hosted by journalist Luján Argüelles and, of course, Bodegas Emilio Moro wines were on hand.

Attendees were able to taste the whites Polvorete, El Zarzal and La Revelía, made from Godello grapes, and the reds: La Felisa, the tribute wine to the mother of the third generation of the family; Emilio Moro, the flagship of the Ribera del Duero winery; and its Malleolus Family, made up of Malleolus, Malleolus de Valderramiro and Malleolus de Sanchomartín, three red wines with a lot of personality that win over and captivate everyone who tastes them. In addition, Joseph Perrier Brut Champagne was served, from the French maison Joseph Perrier, of which Bodegas Emilio Moro is the official distributor in Spain. A whole repertoire to create a perfect pairing for the tasting menu with which the guests were delighted.

Members of the Moro family enjoyed this event accompanied by the chefs Jesús Sánchez, from the restaurant Cenador de Amós and friend of the house; and Dani Carnero, from the restaurant Kaleja; and they witnessed, once again, how the union between solidarity and gastronomy achieves such commendable challenges as this 5th edition of Chefs For Children.
