- Jorge Vázquez unveiled his collection for the coming autumn-winter 2023/24 at Ifema, followed by a dinner where the co-hosts, the designer himself and Bodegas Emilio Moro, were joined by friends, prominent personalities from the world of fashion and wine, and VIP society.
- The collaboration between the designer and Bodegas Emilio Moro, born out of a mutual passion for tradition and good taste, has developed in several phases of mutual support, culminating in the presentation of the Jorge Vázquez collection and the case inspired by this collection and designed to dress one of the winery’s most iconic wines: Malleolus
Bodegas Emilio Moro and Jorge Vázquez have united the world of wine and fashion in a collaboration that extols the values of tradition and good workmanship with women as the protagonists.
Bodegas Emilio Moro has supported the designer throughout the process of creating this collection that has just seen the light of day at Madrid Fashion Week. Patricia Sánchez Moro, general manager of the winery said that ‘it has been an adventure that we embarked on with great affection and admiration. Jorge has worked for months on a wonderful collection while conveying that essence in the pack he has designed for our Malleolus. It has been a very gratifying experience to move forward hand in hand to create a unique universe where the world of wine and the world of fashion come together’.
Madrid Fashion Week was the stage where both worlds were able to unite. Jorge Vázquez has presented a collection full of references to the seduction and luxury of the Orient, supported by the Moro family; the designer stated that ‘this evening is the culmination of months of work, and I feel tremendously proud to share the role of host with Bodegas Emilio Moro, we are united by a passion for tradition and craftsmanship that has made it possible to unite both worlds in a natural way’.
In addition, Jorge Vázquez outfitted Patricia Sánchez Moro, general manager of the winery, and Rubi Moro and Fabiola Moro, members of the third generation of the family, with exclusive designs for the occasion.
The dinner held at the Ritz was attended by exceptional guests such as Mar Flores, José Toledo, Cari Lapique, Carla Goyanes, Teresa Baca and Marta Hazas, who were able to enjoy an exceptional wine pairing.
The Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut Champagne, a faithful expression of the house style for its length, freshness, elegance, balance and lightness; together with El Zarzal, the subtlest and freshest Godello of Bodegas Emilio Moro, accompanied the aperitifs that opened the celebratory dinner.
La Felisa, the winery’s first organic and vegan wine, is considered by the winery’s experts as the ideal transition to reds, as it is a wine with very primary flavours; very fresh and surprising.
Malleolus, the star of the limited edition box, was the wine chosen to pair with the main dishes as a symbol of elegance, delicacy and distinction.
