Bodegas Emilio Moro, one of the leading wineries in Ribera del Duero, continues to grow and reap success with its wines. The winery has eleven wines on the market, and on this occasion, three very special tempranillos, whose reputation continues to grow and win over everyone who tastes them, have become the stars of this great news.
The American magazine Wine Spectator, one of the most important international wine magazines, has awarded excellent ratings to Clon de la Familia and La Felisa. Specifically, the Moro family’s wines received a rating of 96 points and 91 points respectively, which validates what the Valladolid winery says.
The Moro family is clear, Clon de la Familia ‘is the best wine from Ribera del Duero’, they say. Thanks to their long experience in winemaking and the passion that Don Emilio Moro passed on to them, they pamper their product and get involved in each of the processes to offer the best. This Tempranillo comes from the harvest in the most emblematic and representative plots of the three types of subsoils in Ribera del Duero. It is aged in exclusive barrels, which respect the aromas of the fruit and the land from which it comes, expressing: tradition, character and passion. A powerful, elegant wine with a unique personality, made to captivate and dazzle.
It has a deep garnet colour, a great personality and an extraordinary richness of nuances to the bouquet, highlighting the aromas typical of the great Tempranillo wines, slowly nuanced by a respectful ageing. On the palate it is fleshy, full-bodied, but with excellent balance, giving rise to a wine with a very long, persistent and pleasant finish.
As for La Felisa, it is a wine named after Felisa Espinosa, the mother of the third generation of the family, as a tribute to her dedication and passion. It is also the brand’s first organic and vegan wine and evokes the charm of the wines of yesteryear. Deep cherry-red in colour with purplish tinges that are very present despite its time in oak, the bouquet is expressive with notes reminiscent of freshly fermented grapes, highlighting aromas of black and red fruits typical of the grape variety. On the palate it is intense, almost rustic, but with an easy and pleasant finish thanks to the high quality raw material and optimum ripeness.
Both the 96 points awarded to Clon de la Familia and the 91 points awarded to La Felisa only reaffirm the Moro family’s views. They seek excellence, to improve quality and offer the consumer an extraordinary experience that can only be lived with Bodegas Emilio Moro wines.
Clon de la Familia, a wine made to prevail; and La Felisa, a wine created as a tribute to the wines of yesteryear and to a woman who has been the central axis of the family, two unique and risky bets that arrive at every table to win over the palate, to make the gourmand fall in love, to seduce the customer.
In addition, the prestigious magazine has published an article on the different wine regions of Spain in which Clon de la Familia and Malleolus de Sanchomartín are mentioned as two of the wines that have received the best ratings in the country, of all those assessed by Wine Spectator in 2022.
Malleolus de Sanchomartín 2018 is another of Bodegas Emilio Moro’s star tempranillos. It has won over national and international critics with its expressiveness and combination of nuances. It is one of the winery’s most sublime wines, with a cherry red colour with garnet tinges. The bouquet is rich in nuances with a great varietal character, but with the personality of the limestone soils. On the palate it is voluminous and balanced with a long and persistent finish.
Three very different wines that are a big hit wherever they go, winning over the most demanding palates and making you fall in love with them with every glass. Anyone who tries Clon de La Familia, La Felisa or Malleolus de Sanchomartín wants to try them again.
